Recharging families of children and teens with special needs physically, emotionally, and spiritually through Christ-centered respite care.
Parenting a child with special needs is challenging and complicated. It’s not easy to find a babysitter when you need to get away. As parents continually sacrifice sleep, their social lives, self-care, and so much more for their children, they often end up feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and isolated.
That’s where the Hope Haven Recharge Respite Care Program steps in. At each respite event, we meet each child’s needs and celebrate their unique personalities!
We welcome children and teens with special needs along with their siblings for a day at camp. We fill the time with games, crafts, toys, an inflatable slide, farm animals, sensory activities, and Bible stories. Each special needs child is paired with a buddy for the day to ensure that they will receive specific attention and have a fun filled day. Parents have the opportunity to spend their time however needed – napping, going on a date, getting a manicure, or having lunch with friends. Parents get a respite to recharge.
**Hope Haven’s Recharge Respite Program is following the guidelines given by the CDC and Virginia State regulations concerning COVID-19. As regulations from the state change, we will change accordingly. The health and safety of all our program participants is our highest priority.**
